International students from all over the world are welcome to apply to the ECTRIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Exchange Program if they are interested in conducting postdoctoral research in the fields of neuroscience and multiple sclerosis. The program’s goals include maximizing information sharing and assisting in the development of a group of skilled research scientists who are specifically interested in MS-related issues. At first, it is anticipated that many fellowships will be given out annually.
The ECTRIMS Research Fellowship is a program that emphasizes research. In collaboration with the fellowship mentor at the host institution, prospective fellows must choose and present a strong basic, clinical, or applied research topic that will be carried out during the fellowship time.
Applications for study fellowships in any area of research relating to MS will be taken into consideration.

Benefits of The ECTRIMS
- Each fellow will receive a salary of €55,000 per year from the fellowship.
- Additionally, ECTRIMS will arrange for reasonable round-trip transportation from the chosen candidate’s residence to the training facility.
The host institution will give the fellow a stipend in accordance with their respective payment procedures and schedules. - Upon submission of receipts to ECTRIMS, travel expenditures for relocation to the training site may be immediately reimbursed to the fellow.
- The host institution must specify the projected fellow’s annual total pay as well as annual total social benefits costs.
- if the entire required costs of the fellow (pay plus benefits) are greater than the yearly or prorated ECTRIMS award.
Eligibility Criteria For The ECTRIMS
- Basically, all countries are eligible
- Languages needed: Depending on the host institution’s standards.
- Fellows should have completed no more than a year of postdoctoral training at the same host institution or mentor at the time of application. Senior candidates must have no more than five years of postdoctoral experience in total at the time of application (PhD, MD, ScD, or equivalent).
- Medical professionals and scientists who hold an MD, PhD, ScD, or an equivalent professional degree are eligible.
- Successful candidates will typically be under 40 at the time of application; however, there may be exceptions in exceptional cases.
- Any nationality may apply for this program, although postdoctoral research training must be done in a European research facility.
