Fully Funded USA Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship 2023-24

The US government offers the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Programme, a fully-funded fellowship opportunity, to international professionals having a track record of leadership and accomplishment in their fields. The fellowship provides one year of non-degree academic study and professional development at specific American colleges.

The program is named after the late U.S. vice president and Senator Hubert H. Humphrey, who was renowned for his dedication to public service and international cooperation. The fellowship aims to carry on his legacy by encouraging cross-cultural understanding and collaboration in areas including public health, democracy, and sustainable development.

The Humphrey Fellowship also presents a unique opportunity for foreign professionals to enhance their knowledge and perspectives, build networks with peers throughout the world, and participate in global initiatives to address pressing social and economic challenges.

Application Process

Mid-career professionals who have demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to public service and who have at least five years of full-time professional experience in their field are eligible for the program. Additionally, candidates need to possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

The Humphrey Fellowship application procedure also entails a number of processes, such as an interview with the embassy or consulate and preliminary application screening by the US embassy or consulate in the applicant’s country of residency.

How to Apply?

Interested applicants must submit an application via their country’s Binational Fulbright Commission or the Public Affairs Division of the U.S. Embassy. There are application deadlines that vary per nation. Candidates must supply:

  • On transcripts, list the courses you have taken and your marks.
  • Additionally, only upload diplomas if the transcripts don’t show that the degree was attained.
  • Moreover, all questions must receive comprehensive responses; English essay responses must entirely address the prompt.
  • In addition, two letters of recommendation in English, one from the applicant’s present employer.
  • Verify that the applicant has uploaded only true, official transcripts.
Once the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has given its approval, the U.S. Embassies and Binational Fulbright Commissions will inform applicants of their status.
