Description of Opportunity
The sixth annual Afghan-American Community Organisation Scholarship Programme has been formally launched by the Afghan-American Community Organisation (AACO).
These scholarship options are offered by the Afghan-American Community Organisation (AACO) to Afghan-American students who demonstrate leadership, have financial needs, and are committed to improving the Afghan-American community. In order to assist full-time students, AACO plans to do so in 2023–2024. To date, AACO has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships to high school, college, and career students. Over $250,000 in scholarships from AACO have already been awarded to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Available Scholarships at AACO
This year, three distinct scholarship options will be accessible to deserving graduate, undergraduate, and vocational students:
Afghan-American Community Organization Scholarship
Students who can show both financial need and a desire to improve the Afghan-American community will be awarded this scholarship.
The Afghan-American Community Organisation Scholarship will be awarded to students who are Afghan-American, actively involved in empowering the Afghan-American community, and who can demonstrate financial need.
- Scholarships from the Afghan-American Community Organisation; the Afghan-American is an American native, citizen, and holder of a Green Card.
- ability to create complete, insightful essays that incorporate academic and professional goals and exhibit an exceptional dedication to uplifting the Afghan-American community.
- ability to submit a résumé that is well-written.
- able to demonstrate their need for money and explain how absent a scholarship, they would not be able to continue their education
- able to provide proof of enrollment in a school or job training program for the 2023–2024 academic year.
- In 2024–2025, act as advocates for the AACO Scholarship Programme.
Sophia and Sabrina Scholarship (New!)
A woman from Afghanistan who has demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and a commitment to bettering Afghans’ lives will be the beneficiary of this scholarship. By helping to cover their education expenses, this prize will enable the recipient to increase their influence and bring about positive change in the Afghan community.

- In 2024–2025, serve as ambassadors for the AACO Scholarship Program.

Afghan-American STEM Scholarship (New!)
This award will go to an Afghan-American student who plans to continue their studies in a STEM profession. By helping to cover educational expenses, this scholarship will help the applicant achieve their goals of making a positive influence and giving back to the Afghan community.
- U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, and U.S. permanent residents with green cards who are studying STEM-related higher education.

There will be no extensions to the final application submission date of Monday, May 29, 2023, at 11:59 PM PT.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS For AACO
- If you meet the requirements, you may apply for all three scholarships, but you may only submit one application.
- In addition, for each of the three scholarships, a financial need essay is required. For any scholarships that you qualify for, you can submit the same essay.
- Moreover, all contributions have been received in full. Once your application is submitted, it cannot be amended or resubmitted.
