Qualifications:
- Candidates need to specify that they are international students.
- English language proficiency is required of applicants.
- After January 1, 2024, the applicant cannot have lived in Germany.
- Candidates may apply prior to completing their MA.
- Applicants are required to have a strong MA degree in sociology, political science, psychology, or a related social science field, such as law, economics, or media sciences, or its national equivalent.
- “Contentious Politics in the Digital Age” must be the applicants’ dissertation project topic.
Advantages of the Scholarship:
- The following advantages are given to chosen applicants:
- a travel allowance of EUR 1,300 per month for a maximum of 48 months;
- payments for personal liability, health, and accident insurance;
- Scholarship holders from nations on the DAC List of ODA recipients currently receive a research allowance of €460 annually, while those from other nations receive €260 annually.
